This Privacy Policy (together with any other documents referred to herein) sets out the basis on which Easy Mobile Logistics Hong Kong Limited (“Lalamove”, “we” or “us”) collects and processes your personal data in connection with our recruitment processes. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
The terms “personal data”, “legal basis”, “processing”, and “data controller” used in this Privacy Policy are consistent with their meanings under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). While our recruitment activities do not fall within the mandatory territorial scope of the GDPR, we strive to apply equivalent data protection principles as a matter of good practice and transparency.
We use our own platform (or a third-party recruitment platform), to assist us with our recruitment process. We also use appropriate service providers to process personal information as data processors on our behalf. Any such processor is only entitled to process your personal data in accordance with our instructions.
Where you apply for a job opening posted by us, these Privacy Policy provisions will apply to our processing of your personal information in addition to our other Privacy Policy which has been provided to you separately or is available on our Website.
Where you apply for a job opening via the application function on a job site or similar online service provider (“Partner”), you should note that the relevant Partner may solely retain your personal data in respect of the progress of your application. Any use by the Partner of your data will be in accordance with the Partner’s Privacy Policy.
A.Data Controllers
The primary applicable Data Controller will be Lalamove that is recruiting for the role.

Easy Mobile Logistics Hong Kong Limited acts as the primary Data Controller responsible for collecting and evaluating your application.
If your application proceeds to the next stage, relevant personal data may be transferred to our EU affiliates, such as Lalamove Germany GmbH or Lalamove Netherlands B.V. for further assessment or employment consideration.
These entities will act as independent controllers (or, where appropriate, joint controllers) for the subsequent processing activities necessary for the recruitment and onboarding process within the European Union.
All transfers are conducted pursuant to the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate protection of your personal data.
B.Your Personal Information
We collect and process some or all of the following types of information from you:
(a) Information provided during the application process (e.g. online portals, interviews).
- Name, address, email address, telephone number, and other contact information;
- Resume, CV, cover letter, previous work experience, professional licenses and certifications, job skills and qualifications, and education information;
- Compensation history or requests, willingness to relocate, and other job preferences;
- Reference information, employer feedback, and information received from background checks, only where legally permitted or required.
- Online questionnaire results and information from interviews; and
(b) Any additional information provided or revealed during the application and recruitment process (e.g., language preference).
C. Special Categories of Personal Data and criminal records
Certain types of Personal Data are subject to specific protection under the GDPR. This includes data referred to as “Special Categories of Personal Data” (such as health, religion, or biometric data) as defined in Article 9, and “Criminal-related Data” (such as information about criminal convictions or offences) as governed by Article 10.
We explicitly do NOT process any of the above types of data during the recruitment phase. However, for certain positions, particularly those involving sensitive responsibilities or security clearance, it may be necessary to process some of these categories of data during the onboarding phase, based on legal requirements or internal security policies. In such cases, you will be informed separately and, where required, your explicit consent will be obtained.
D. Information from Other Sources
We may link data you provide with publicly available information (e.g., LinkedIn). We may also receive data from third-party recruiters, referral systems, or public databases.
E. Lawful Basis and Purpose of Processing
We rely primarily on legitimate interest to evaluate candidates and recruit staff. In some instances, consent may be requested.
We process your personal data to:

maintain administrative records and defend against legal claims (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); and

with your consent, contact you for future job opportunities (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
By voluntarily submitting your application to us, you consent to the processing of your personal data for recruitment purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at: hr.dataprivacy@lalamove.com.
F. International Transfer Disclaimer
Your personal data will be transferred to and processed in Hong Kong, which has not been recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. We may also use Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard such transfers, and you may obtain a copy by contacting our DPO.
By submitting your application, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to Hong Kong for the purposes of evaluating your application. We will take appropriate measures to ensure your data is handled securely.
G. Automated Decision Making / Profiling
We do not make hiring decisions based on automation.
H. Aggregate Data
Anonymized or aggregated data may be used for statistical analysis, system improvement, or lawful business purposes.
I. Disclosure of Your Information
Your personal Data may be disclosed to us through:

Third-party processors acting under our instruction, such as recruitment firms/agencies, or service providers that offer applicant tracking systems.
Additionally, we may disclose your data to:

Business partners, such as law firms or consulting firms, if their services are required to support your employment-related matters, including but not limited to visa applications, immigration procedures, or other necessary formalities for entering and working outside of Hong Kong.
J. Data Security and Storage
We implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, or loss of personal data. Data may be stored in systems located in Hong Kong.
K. Data Retention
If your application is successful (and we give our best wishes), your data will be transferred to your personnel file and retained in accordance with statutory retention requirements applicable to employment relationships. In this case, your data may be stored for several years as required for contractual and legal purposes.
If your application is unfortunately not successful, your personal data (e.g., CVs, interview notes) will be retained for a period of up to six months after the conclusion of the recruitment process. This retention period is based on our legitimate interest in defending against potential legal claims.
With your explicit consent, we may retain your application data for a longer period of 2 years in order to contact you about future job opportunities. You may withdraw your consent at any time. We will periodically review whether continued retention of your data is necessary. Retention review will be carried out annually.

If you are located in the EU and have concerns that cannot be resolved with us directly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority in your Member State.
