What is Lalamove Goods Protection?

Lalamove Goods Protection is a feature for corporate users that offers compensation for delivery items in case they get lost or damaged. Every delivery is automatically insured up to €850 for bike, car, caddy and transporter. 

What types of items are covered by Lalamove Goods Protection?

Lalamove Goods Protection covers goods permitted for transport under Lalamove’s Terms and Conditions and applicable laws. Items classified as restricted or prohibited according to Lalamove’s Terms and Conditions and Goods Protection Promises are not covered. These include, among others:

  • Illegal drugs
  • Chemicals
  • Open Alcoholic Drinks
  • Weapons & Firearms
  • Flammable materials
  • High value precious jewellery
  • Unsecured sharp objects

Persons and animals will also not be transported and are therefore not covered by Lalamove Goods Protection.

What are the requirements and the process to submit a claim?

Please contact our Lalamove support team chat for assistance in reporting the incident and submitting a claim. The claim form provided must be submitted within 7 days of delivery completion. The following documents are required along with the claim form:

For lost goods:

  • Receipts that show the value of the lost goods
  • Pictures of the lost goods taken before loading
  • Proof of loading and/or handover

For damaged goods:

  • Receipts that show the value of the damaged goods
  • Pictures of the undamaged goods taken before loading
  • Pictures or proof of the damaged goods

The insurance provider may deny your claim in case of incomplete, invalid or un-readable supporting documents.

Important reminder to users:

Rules for deliveries must also be followed to avoid inconvenience or rejection of the request, such as:

  • Packaging: Users must ensure that items are properly packaged to protect them from damage during transport.
  • Fragile items: In addition to proper packaging, such shipments must be marked as ‘fragile’ with a corresponding note on the front of the packaging or container and above the recipient's address.

How long does it take to process a claim?

Claims may be processed by the insurance provider within 30 days, depending on the completeness of the documents and verification by the insurance provider.

Who processes and pays for my claim?

The insurance provider will process, validate, assess, and, if granted, pay your claim. Lalamove will only assist in collecting your insurance claim document and in disbursing the amount approved and paid for by the insurance provider.

What happens once my claim is approved?

Lalamove will inform you of the insurance provider's decision on your claim. Claim settlement will be transferred to your designated bank account within 60 business days.

What if my item for delivery is priced beyond €850?

Items priced beyond €850 for bike, car, caddy and transporter can still be delivered with Lalamove. However, the maximum amount you can claim under the default coverage is up to €850 only. For additional paid insurance options, please contact our support team.
