Before installing Lalamove vehicle stickers, check whether your vehicle insurance permits the branding, whether a DVLA vehicle colour update is required, and that the proposed sticker placement is safe.
This guide explains the checks to complete before arranging installation, including what to ask your insurer and how to contact DVLA if you are unsure about your vehicle’s recorded colour.
Using a leased vehicle? You will also need to check your lease agreement and obtain any required permission from your leasing company.

Before applying Lalamove stickers, contact any insurance provider covering your vehicle or your delivery work to confirm that adding the branding is permitted under your policy.
This may include:
If these are covered under one policy, you only need to check with that insurance provider once. Make sure your enquiry covers all relevant parts of your insurance.
Vehicle branding or signwriting may be treated as a vehicle modification. Check what your insurer requires you to declare and obtain any required confirmation before installation. Failing to disclose a modification when required could affect your cover, premium or ability to claim.
It is your responsibility to make any required declarations to your insurer.
Copy and edit the message below, then send it through your insurer’s usual support channel, such as its app, online account, live chat or email.
Hello,
I am planning to add removable Lalamove-branded stickers to the exterior of my vehicle. Please could you confirm whether this is permitted under my policy?
Vehicle registration: [REGISTRATION NUMBER]
Policy number: [POLICY NUMBER]
Side-panel sticker dimensions: [DIMENSIONS]
Back-panel sticker dimensions: [DIMENSIONS]
Proposed placement: Side and back panelsThe stickers are removable and will be used for commercial branding. There will be no mechanical changes to the vehicle.
Could you please confirm:
- Whether I need to declare the stickers as a vehicle modification or otherwise notify you about them.
- Whether installing them would affect my insurance cover or premium.
- Whether any conditions or restrictions apply.
I can provide an image showing the sticker design and proposed placement if required.
Thank you.
Keep a copy of your insurer’s response for your records.
Lalamove uses removable vinyl exterior stickers designed for vehicle branding. Use the dimensions below when contacting your insurer or asking DVLA about the proposed branding.
Lalamove UK lists the following vehicle options:
The exact sticker configuration may depend on your vehicle. If you are unsure which sticker sizes or placement apply, contact the Lalamove team before installation.
Adding Lalamove stickers does not automatically mean you need to change your vehicle’s recorded colour. Check whether the branding would change your vehicle’s predominant or main colour.
DVLA requires you to update your V5C registration certificate, also known as your log book, when your vehicle’s colour changes.
For example, consider whether a white vehicle would remain predominantly white after the stickers are installed. If you are unsure whether the proposed branding would require a colour update, contact DVLA before installation.

Hello,
I am planning to have Lalamove advertising stickers installed on my vehicle and would like to check whether I need to update the colour recorded on my V5C.
Vehicle registration: [REGISTRATION NUMBER]
Make and model: [MAKE AND MODEL]
Current colour on V5C: [COLOUR]
Number of stickers: [NUMBER]
Side-panel sticker dimensions: [DIMENSIONS]
Back-panel sticker dimensions: [DIMENSIONS]The stickers will be installed on the side and back panels. The rest of the vehicle will remain its original colour.
Would this change the vehicle’s predominant colour for V5C purposes, and does the colour recorded on the V5C need updating?
I can provide an image showing the proposed sticker design and placement if required.Thank you.
If a colour update is required and you are the registered keeper:
Complete section 1 of a new-style V5C, which has multi-coloured numbered blocks on the front cover. If you have an older-style V5C, complete section 7 instead.
Enter the new vehicle colour in the relevant field.
Send the completed V5C, with any evidence DVLA requires and the correct postage, to the address below.

If you are not the registered keeper for example, because your vehicle is leased—contact the leasing company or registered keeper before installation.
Do not complete or submit the V5C on their behalf without their authorisation. If the branding requires a colour update, ask them to arrange the necessary notification to DVLA.
